It is my pleasure to provide this letter of recommendation for Heather Pakhala. Heather is an expert nurse, she possesses the practical knowledge, the clinical and technical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with patients and family members that characterizes nursing expertise. And the clinical judgment and critical thinking skills she possesses are likewise those of an expert: her decisions and actions are the product of extensive knowledge and experience.Providing home health care requires not only advanced assessment and technical skills, but also the ability to “think-on-your-feet”, to demonstrate flexibility, to function effectively in the variety of challenging and unpredictable settings inherent in homecare; Heather demonstrates all those capabilities. She is a master at distilling down a great deal of information/input and getting to the heart of the matter: providing the services and resources the patient needs.
Heather’s communication and interpersonal skills are also those of a mature, experienced, and confident health care professional. She provides information to patients in a direct, clear, and respectful manner. Her communication and interactions with other health care professionals are collegial and reflect a collaborative approach to patient care. She’s a professional who takes her work seriously but who’s also fun to work with and be around.
Heather Pahkala is one of the most skilled and well-versed nurses I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Her
experience gives her a unique ability to provide humanity-focused, compassion-based care at a remarkable level
that is second to none.
Absolutely INCREDIBLE Adult Family Home!!!
If you are looking for a safe, clean, respectful place for someone you love to live, then look no further. Heather and her staff are amazing!
My mother was scared and worried about what moving into assisted living would be like–she’d always been independent and very self-sufficient. When her world changed and it was clear she needed more daily support, the decision of where to go seemed overwhelming.
It was clear from the moment that I met Heather that HERE is the place for my mom! As a fully qualified Registered Nurse (RN), Heather provides amazing care for her residents. She listens to them and respects them as the unique and wonderful people they are. She kept on top of subtle changes in mother’s health and made sure she got intensified medical care when she needed it.
My mother couldn’t wait to go back to Active Adventures after periods of off-site medical treatment. Heather and Active Adventures provided light and hope that inspired her to recover and want to be well.
Thank you so much, Heather and team!! Active Adventures Assisted Living is a profoundly wonderful Adult Family Home!!!
I cannot recommend Heather highly enough as a nurse and caregiver. Having worked with Heather for the past 10 years, her clinical knowledge is the top of her field. She cares deeply for her patients, and is a strong advocate for them. I would entrust my loved ones to her care in a heartbeat!
Today was spent getting ready to move to an assisted living in Beaverton, closer to my niece who is our power of attorney. She lives hours away, if the traffic is good, so we are making it easier for her to check on us. We hate to leave Heather’s home. It has been a nice place to live & we got excellent care & meals. She always had a warm & calm tone. Celebrations were always a special day for any one of us. She played games with us & gave us plenty of puzzles to work on. Gave us nightly massages if we wanted & if we called for her in the middle of the night, she came & was never grouchy & did what needed to be done for us. She keeps a good house, has a nice patio, and flowers we can help with if we chose to.
We will miss her & the other residents & hope our new place can give us what we have gotten here.
If you choose to move here, You will be happy. ????
